The function of the operations department is to make sure that the business runs effectively, smoothly and professionally. It extends to all those who work in the organisation from the management team right through to the factory floor. Without the operations department a company cannot achieve the smooth and efficient running required to be profitable.
Operations departments generate masses of paperwork from such things as proof of delivery notes, invoices, job cards, plans and incident reports. All of these soon add up and unless a document management solution is implemented they will soon slow the business down.
